If you haven't heard we are less than a month away from International Food Revolution Day. In honor of this day South Texas Heritage Pork is hosting a Fine Swine culinary school cook-off.
The event will be held May 20th from 2:30-8:00 pm and will consist of a culinary competition between local South Texas culinary schools including the renown CIA. This half-day event will include cooking demos, a food documentary, tastings prepared by culinary students and local chefs using produce from local farmers, and a pasture raised roaster hog raffle.
Special guest judges include Chef Jason Dady of Bin555, Tre Trattoria, Two Bros BBQ; Chef David Gilbert of Sustenio; Chef Steve McHugh of Lüke SA Riverwalk; and food writer Chris Dunn.
Join us as we take a stand for local, sustainable food, raised with respect and prepared from scratch.
Tickets can be purchased from Mark and Kelley Escobedo at the Pearl Farmers market or by visiting South Texas Heritage Pork's online store. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to support food education, cover event costs, and help cover the farm's losses incurred during last year's epic drought.
